Surgical Exams app
Effective 31 August 2026 · iPhone and iPad · coming to the App Store
This page is for the Surgical Exams iPhone and iPad app. It is not the MALT-y app and not the website-only terms.
The app uses the same login as surgicalexams.com. The website stays free after approval. App access is A$0.99 per exam sitting, paid through Apple In-App Purchase.
Privacy Policy
We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Account
The app signs you in with the name, email or phone, and password you already use on the website. We do not collect AHPRA numbers. We do not collect biometric data.
Study analytics
When you finish a practice session we store whether each answer was right or wrong, and how you performed by syllabus topic. That is how the app shows strong areas. We do not store your typed answers, voice, photos, contacts, or precise location in the iPhone or iPad app. Question text is not saved as a photo library item on the device.
App sitting fee
The iPhone and iPad app is A$0.99 per exam sitting, paid through Apple In-App Purchase. When that exam date passes, app access for that exam type ends until the next sitting is unlocked. Apple processes the payment. We keep the App Store transaction ID so we can unlock the sitting on your account. We never see or store your card details.
What we do not collect in the app
- Advertising identifiers or tracking pixels
- Location, contacts, photos, microphone audio, or camera
- IP address or coarse location for iPhone logins
The website may record login IP for security on the web only. The iPhone and iPad app does not.
Sharing
We do not share user data with analytics, advertising, or other third-party SDKs. Apple processes In-App Purchase under Apple’s terms.
Retention and deletion
You can delete your account in Account on the website or in the app when it is available. That removes your profile, practice history, and login records. Email info@surgicalexams.com if you need help. Deleting the app from your device does not cancel an Apple purchase; manage that in Apple ID settings.
Children
This service is for medical graduates and surgical trainees. It is not directed at children under 13.
Terms of use and your obligations
- You will use the same login as the website and not share that login.
- Paid app features are unlocked only through Apple In-App Purchase for the exam sitting you buy.
- You will not copy, scrape, or redistribute question content from the app.
- Study material is for education. It is not medical advice.
- Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies: Apple Standard EULA.
